James Earl Jones is retiring as the voice of Darth Vader. (He is 91, after all.) He already had prior to the filming of the Obi Wan Kenobi series.
His voice was used in the series via a program called Respeecher, developed in the Ukraine. The man creating Darth Vader’s voice sequences in the series was working frantically to complete them during his country’s invasion by Russia, often hiding in his closet to work.
Americans are complaining they don’t want to support the Ukraine in this war anymore. I imagine we’d hear a lot of complaints if Darth Vader’s voice changed in the Star Wars universe, though.
The Ukraine has also been the US’ main site for space flight since NASA’s shuttle program was retired.
Now Putin is forcing Russian citizens into military service into his effort to annex the Ukraine back into Russian possession. His own people are desperately trying to flee; flights out of Russia are completely sold out.
He has threatened nuclear engagement if military forces are brought against him.
Also, Iran is still slaughtering its own citizens as they protest against its treatment of women.
A hurricane damaged and flooded a large part of Puerto Rico and
another hit Cuba and is beating down on Florida.
But sure, keep arguing about a fictional mermaid’s skin color and Adam Levine’s private life.
